Today's labours of love also included the creation of a soundtrack (at last). Finally finding some suitably moody and atmospheric music, we swiftly added it to the sequence. By chance, the music fits the first half of the sequence perfectly, giving a tense at dramatic feel which culminated in the action scene where the killer strikes. However, this was when the music came to an end, so we added a second short piece to cover the second half of the sequence, slowing it down to elongate it to reaching the end of the opening. The two musical items are very similar, and the second one follows on from the first very naturally. Also added was a gunshot at the very end of the piece. This effect is loud, sudden and dramatic, exactly the feel we wanted. People that have seen it so far have been suitably shocked at the ending. We've also been looking at enhancing the slamming of the detective's head into the desk.
